Gift of Thanks
Give the staff a Gift of Thanks for all they do this holiday season… by donating directly to their classrooms in lieu of a physical gift! These funds are valuable to the staff and will go directly to your teacher of choice’s classroom enhancement budget to be spent on a number of ‘wish list’ items they’ve had their eyes on.
What is the PTO’s Gift of Thanks?
Each year, families are able to donate funds directly to their student’s classroom or staff as a way to say “thank you.” Our other PTO fundraisers go towards funding the school/PTO in its entirety, however the Gift of Thanks allows funding to go straight to a staff member.
Who can I give a Gift of Thanks to?
Any Cooper Mountain Elementary staff member. Teachers, office staff, specials instructors, everyone!
Is there a benefit to utilizing Gift of Thanks vs. bringing our teacher a gift?
Giving the Gift of Thanks allows the staff to spend these funds on their classroom, much like a gift card. This helps eliminate their budgets being insufficient for all the great things they’d like to purchase for the school year. Though many teachers appreciate the extra classroom funds, they are always filled with gratitude for the physical gifts they receive from students and families!
Can I utilize my employer’s Giving Tuesday for Gift of Thanks?
Yes! Usually in November, many employers participate in Giving Tuesday. If you will be utilizing employer matching funds, we strongly encourage donating on Giving Tuesday. It’s a great way to stretch your generous gift even further!
I forgot to include which staff member my funds should go to or I’m not sure you received them correctly… What should I do?
Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get it distributed appropriately. Please include your name, donation amount, which system the donation was sent from, and the staff name(s).
Can my family members donate?
Yes! They can follow the same instructions and make donations to the staff.
Can I make a Gift of Thanks outside of the holiday season?
Absolutely! The donation link below is open throughout the school year.
1. Donations can be sent through PayPal using the button below.
In the “add a note” section on the final screen please be sure to call out your giving option (Community Support or Gift of Thanks & Teacher/Staff Member name; if giving to both please specify how to allocate the funds.)
2. You can send a check to Cooper Mountain Elementary, 7670 SW 170th Avenue Beaverton, OR 97007. Please include a note about how to allocate your donation.
About Employer matching
Many of the larger companies in our region participate in employer matching as part of their community investment. Employer matching can be applied to both giving options above.
Here is a list of a few companies who have matched eligible donations in the past. This list is not comprehensive, so please check with your human resources department to find out if your company will participate in company matching funds and how to submit your donation match request.

For Community Support donations, please email proof of matching to email@example.com so we can be sure to account for this additional donation when purchasing food! For Gift of Thanks, donations from families will go to the teacher intended and all employer matching funds will be pooled and divided across all staff.
